GREEN HOPE on the Home Front

Most military lives were saved during WWII by medical 'advances' that actually had little postwar civilian application.

The 'advances' are less scientific and more the spending of lots of money and devoting a lot of attention to detail.

The goal was to spare no expense or manpower and transport in getting the wounded quickly stabilized on the battlefield and then into a larger medical facility far away the battlefield.
